Rob Marando


Rob holds Bachelor degrees in Law and Environmental Studies. He has also completed tertiary studies in medical physics, human biology, pathology, radiology and ultrasound.

Prior to creating Momentum Legal, Rob was a Partner at Western Australia’s largest independent law firm.





Rob’s experience includes litigating claims for agricultural product defects, including those causing fire, property damage and personal injury.

Construction and engineering

Rob has represented principals, contractors and sub-contractors regarding alleged design, construction and product defects.

In addition, he provides advice regarding and litigates in respect of insurance cover.


Rob has represented a variety of corporations from small private to global energy companies and P&I Clubs.

His experience includes litigating and resolving claims for alleged breaches of contract, negligence and defective products.

In addition, Rob has represented directors and other officers regarding allegations of breached duties and misleading and deceptive conduct.


Rob has acted for local councils, statutory authorities and statutory trusts, in particular in respect of safety.

Health and home care

Rob has represented hospitals, doctors, nurses, home service providers, aged care homes and carers regarding alleged breaches of professional duties, coronial investigations and safety matters.


Rob has acted both for and against insurers regarding indemnity, double insurance, professional indemnity, public liability, product liability, industrial disease, workers’ compensation and employers’ indemnity.

He is skilled in auditing operational risks and providing advice and education on insurance cover.

Not for profit

Rob has acted for both large and small not for profit organisations. His experience includes providing legal advice and representation for general operations, along with drafting disclaimers, waivers, consents and other terms and conditions for fund raising events.

Oil, gas, mining and refining

In addition to litigation, Rob has represented global energy companies in respect of HSSE compliance, licence and permit condition compliance, risk identification, dangerous goods, emergency planning and incident response.

Rob’s experience includes a one year secondment to BP.

Rob has both represented and acted against various professionals including in respect of alleged negligent health, engineering, accounting and legal services.

Personal injury

Rob is experienced in personal injury law including claims in respect of public liability, workers’ compensation, employers’ indemnity and professional liability.

Recreation and tourism

Rob has acted for, advised and provided education services to recreational and tourism operators and bodies including in respect of risks, insurance and Civil Liability Act defences.

He is experienced in drafting disclaimers, waivers, consents and other terms and conditions.

Transport and logistics

Rob has provided advice and representation regarding trading terms, property damage and safety legislation relevant to passenger transport and the supply of goods.
